Privacy Policy — Newsletter Subscription

This privacy policy explains how we process personal data when you subscribe to the VITA project newsletter.

Purpose of Processing

We process your personal data to send you VITA project newsletters containing project milestones, events, educational resources, and updates about our activities in vocational education and AI-powered teaching.

Legal Basis

The legal basis for processing your data is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You provide this consent by checking the consent box when subscribing to our newsletter. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email.

Data Processed

We collect and process:

  • Email address (required)
  • Subscription date and time
  • Consent record

Data Processor

We use Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, a Salesforce company) as our email marketing platform and data processor. Mailchimp stores and processes your subscription data on our behalf to deliver newsletters.

International Data Transfers

Mailchimp may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Such transfers are safeguarded through:

  • Mailchimp's Data Processing Addendum (DPA)
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
  • Additional technical and organizational measures

Data Retention

We retain your subscription data until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent. After you unsubscribe, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing
  • Object to processing (where applicable)
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal

Complaints

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For Lithuania, this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (vdai.lrv.lt). You may also contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
