Introduction to the VITA Project

The VITA project responds to the rapid digital transformation of vocational education and training. While digitalisation has already reshaped many aspects of VET, the emergence of artificial intelligence presents new opportunities and challenges for schools, teachers, and learners. AI-related competences are becoming an essential part of digital literacy, making it necessary for VET teachers to understand, evaluate, and meaningfully apply AI tools in their everyday teaching practice.

VITA supports VET institutions in rethinking their digital strategies by embedding artificial intelligence into standard curriculum lessons across all subjects and professions. By combining AI with active and student-centred learning methodologies, the project helps teachers foster engagement, innovation, and future-ready competences among learners.

Objectives and Expected Impact

The project aims to empower vocational education and training (VET) teachers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their teaching practice. By combining AI with active learning methodologies, VITA promotes a student-centred approach that enhances engagement and supports the development of future-ready competences among learners.

The long-term goal is to embed AI into VET education by incorporating it into regular curriculum lessons, regardless of the subject or profession. This innovative approach prepares students to adapt to rapid technological developments and to thrive in an AI-powered world.

  • Strengthen AI literacy and ethical awareness among teachers.
  • Provide reusable lesson plans, templates, and microlearning content.
  • Support schools through blended professional learning and mentorship.
  • Create evidence through pilot classrooms, case studies, and open resources.
